FolioFirst is part of an online stock brokerage and financial technology firm that has been serving investors since 2000. From its beginning, Folio has been dedicated to helping individual investors achieve their long-term financial goals. No other brokerage offers our unique combination of patented innovations, a powerful platform, and a passion for helping investors experience the benefits of smarter investing.
You can choose from a collection of over 200 U.S. exchange traded common stocks and three exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
FolioFirst offers over 200 common stocks for purchase.
Shares of common stock represent partial ownership of a corporation. If an investor owns shares of Apple, IBM or Home Depot, she is an owner in those companies and participates in their financial growth, profits and losses.
Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are baskets of securities that trade on an exchange, just like a stock.
The ETFs included in the FolioFirst program cover a variety of asset classes and sectors:
Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VTI) - for U.S. stock exposure
Vanguard Total International Stock ETF (VXUS) - for international stock exposure
Vanguard Total Bond Market ETF (BND) - for the bond component of the portfolio
The list of available stocks and ETFs is subject to change at any time, and should not be construed as a recommendation to buy any particular security or invest in any particular sector. View all available securities.
If you would like access to thousands of additional U.S. exchange traded securities and mutual funds, you can open an account at folioinvesting.com.

Funds are transferred to and from FolioFirst through electronic fund transfer (EFT) only. You will need to link a bank account to your FolioFirst account in order to move money to FolioFirst.
If you haven’t linked your bank account to your FolioFirst account, you can do so by selecting Transfer Money from the Account menu. You'll just need your bank's routing number and your bank account number, which you can find at the bottom of any check.
Note that only one bank link can be associated with your FolioFirst account.
If you need to change your linked bank account, please contact Customer Service.
To deposit new funds into your FolioFirst account from your linked bank account, simply select Transfer Money from the Account menu.
FolioFirst pricing is simple and straightforward—you receive all of our great brokerage features, including commission-free security trading (up to 2,000 trades per month in twice-daily trading windows), for one flat fee of just $5 per month. And that one fee covers as many accounts as you need—individual, joint and retirement (there is a separate $25 annual reporting fee for IRA accounts only).
Note that certain accounts are not automatically charged the $5.00 monthly fee. For T-Mobile Rewards customers ("T-Mobile Rewards Billing Plan"), and certain brokerage customers whose account balances upon transfer to FolioFirst were less than $100 ("Folio First Brokerage - Inactive Billing Plan"), the monthly account fee will not apply UNTIL you make your first purchase or sale of securities. For customers who do not incur the $5.00 monthly fee, an annual account fee of $15.00 applies.
Other fees may apply for special services. See details of additional fees here.
